NEW YORK, ADTECH EXPO, BOOTH 320 - November 6, 2006 - CommerceTel, leading provider of
interactive TV solutions, and Jeff Mirkin Productions, leading game and reality television production company,
today announced an agreement whereby Jeff Mirkin Productions will use CommerceTel technology to add
interactive elements to TV shows currently in production. CommerceTel technology enables mobile and
fixed-line phone interaction with television. Mirkin Productions will use CommerceTel to add viewer
participation features to shows such as voting, contest entry, and content distribution. Jeff Mirkin is one of the
television industry's most accomplished game and reality show producers and has produced some of TV's biggest
hits, including Fox's Greed, GSN's Poker Royale and NBC's remake of Let's Make a Deal.
"The ability for users to interact with TV using their phones is one of the most exciting TV trends I've seen and
CommerceTel has figured out a way to make it easy and more profitable than ever," said Jeff Mirkin, CEO of Jeff
Mirkin Productions. "Using CommerceTel technology, which enables mobile TV interaction in a way far simpler
than traditional texting and keywords, we will be able to specifically design shows that entertain and engage
viewers with truly exciting features that go beyond voting to include contest entry, coupon distribution, as well as
ringtone, screensaver and video content downloads. The benefits to television producers in terms of their ability to
attract, develop and retain viewers is invaluable."
CommerceTel technology eliminates user obstacles to mobile TV interaction. A viewing audience will no longer
have to remember or text key words to short codes on their cell phones or navigate cell phone menus when they
want to download something. They simply dial a toll-free telephone number from their mobile or fixed line phone
and then listen to a menu of options to which they respond with simple touchtone input. The easy-to-remember
number becomes the gateway for viewers to the TV show and a direct link for TV producers to viewers.
CommerceTel technology represents the quickest and most profitable way to add interactive elements to TV
shows, run mobile ad campaigns, or distribute mobile content.
"We are very pleased to collaborate with Jeff Mirkin Productions and thrilled that CommerceTel's technology will
be used to enhance Jeff's television shows," said Steve Cherry, CommerceTel CEO. "Jeff knows how to make
hits and his creative genius will ensure that his next generation of enhanced game and reality shows are the most
exciting and profitable shows ever produced."
The first Jeff Mirkin Productions TV shows to incorporate interactive elements using CommerceTel technology
will be announced before the end of the year.
